Fishing (4)

After the first fishing trip with 4 of us (which I will blog later), pastor decided to bring the youth to go fishing this time. This time we went in 2 big cars. Lots of people and had more fun. Some already reached there on Friday (24th Oct 2008), and they caught a lot of fish! Some of us arrived mid night and had the chance to eat the fishes for breakfast on the second day. Yummy!

Thus, pastor brought us to the port in the early morning 6.30am.

To go to the port, we had to cross a mountain by jungle trekking. (shaking shot)

The scenery is so beautiful! I like sea and I miss sea view so much! (I came from East Malaysia which we can go to the beach within 15 minutes)

7.11am sun was still hiding under the clouds
We need sun! It's freezing cold!

7.35am the sun came out but we still could not fight over the coldness and we decided to go back to the homestay.

Anyway, these were the tools we used.

I found this too (I didn't take home anyway).

Lighthouse

View of the sea is always wide and wonderful! Birds are everywhere!

See how exciting we were!
Fishing actually is a boring actitivity because it takes a lot of time and effort but still may not have any result. We did not catch any fish but we were frozen by the cold wind. But we were amazed by the amazing nature and scenery of the sea! We are gladful we can be here!
Fishing widens up my view because it trains my patience. Even though we don't know where the fish is, we still have to try looking for them!

Also, Koreans really practise this: leave nothing but your footprints - not possible to leave footprints in the cement floor - but we leave our shadows. All the rubbish and things we used we never left at the port, so as the other people. That's why you can see all the time I took the photos - the port is very clean. They really have a good attitude and behavior in taking care of the environment and think of others.

One thing you may curious: how do you wash the tools - use the sea water! Wash the fish with sea water as that's where they come from - that's why raw fish is safe to eat.

Fishing (3)

Fishing in spring and autumn almost the same - freezing cold in Geoje Island!

We wore winter jackets and we had to keep making hot water to make ourselves warm. The windblocker is the most important in this trip! Ok... the most important
was the Ramen!

Sun shine brightly but the wind blew even stronger!

But it never stops the birds!

Let's see what we fished this time!
Prawns that we used:

The fish we caught: (First day only!)

See how beautiful were their skins!

Fishes we caught on the second day!

Sunset came with a beautiful scenery and it's the time to go back to Seoul!

The snow sent us back to Seoul at night!

Fishing trip (2)

In March 09, we went to Geoje Island for fishing again. This time pastor brought Joshua fellowship, most guys but with families this time. The kids enjoyed the most, though some of them are too young but they enjoyed the fresh and clean air.
Out of Seoul city and enjoy the sea and rural area view is the best for us, right?

March is still cold in southern part of Seoul, but we still thankful to see flowers everywhere.

We rented a house to stay overnight. It is a nice place as it is not far from the fishing port, and the kids could walk around safely. There is a big tree, doggies, and plants and little bugs.

Kids just like to climb up and down to find new things! They like adventures! Though it was not their first time to be here.

Da-In likes to play with puppy the most, made the doggie quite jealous.

We found this big tree which is already 300 years old at another side of the village. It's Zolkova serrata Makino, found in 1982. The Koreans keep trees very well, they even provide the tree information just next to the tree. Pastor's wife takes it as a chance to be an education to the children about trees.

We also found some wild plants that could be our dinner.

Let's have a look at the local village:

Ok.... Let's see what we fished this time:
First we saw a diver in the middle of the sea - a cleaner! He makes sure the sea is clean! Thanks for his hardwork!

We put our fishing rod down but... this time we got zero!
Anyway, the weather was too cold that we just gave up and let the kids go back to the house, otherwise they would catch a cold! The fathers continued there to fish, but still we could not get anything this time.

Fishing trip (1)

How about a fishing trip in Korea?

We went to Geoje Island to fish for a few times since last year, from winter until summer. Different trips have different views and experiences. All were so exciting!

Let's me share with you for the latest trip until the first one.

We went to Geoje Island on 23th June (Tuesday). It took us 5 hours to go there!
(In my hometown, we just take 10 minutes ride then can reach the beach, but not in Korea)

We went to eat lunch - melanian snail at a famous restaurant - so delicious! And then we prepared to fish. Since the weather was still so hot in the afternoon 3pm, we decided to visit Geoje Shipbuilding Theme Park next to the fishing port. Free entrance and it is a good shade from the burning sun!

Just near to the parking area, we saw these boats and yachts around.

On the way to the theme park, this little cute girl caught my notice. Do you what made her want to be there?

Yes, these little red fishes.

Let's enter the exhibition hall! It's hot!

The main hall

The decoration is so creative!

Lots of ship displayed here (ok... miniature one)

We also got the chance to play 4D simulator ride without charge! It's exciting with the 3D spectacles, without staircases around us in riding, with water and air, with moving chairs. The story board is very nice!

Ok....

Should go back to the sea to do fishing!

The sunlight was still strong and we almost burnt at 5.30pm.

How beautiful is the sea!

The water is very clear too!

Our fishing rods - gears to catch fish is a very important reason to catch fish successfully.

After waiting for a long time, our pastor finally caught a big fish which surprised us the most! All these times we came here for fishing, this was the first time we got such a big fish!

The fish is so fresh that we ate it raw and it was so so delicious!!!
We also caught another 2 fishes that we fried it - so so fresh and delicious! Now I only realize that why fish must eat when it is fresh. The taste is so much different with the frozen fish!

Let's view some of the sunset there! Amazing beautiful views! Beautiful creation of God!
